House Intelligence Committee Stacks Interviews

News  |  Dec 18, 2017

CNN reports the House Intelligence Committee has a packed week ahead with plans to interview British publicist Rob Goldstone, former Democratic National Committee chair Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), and Michael Sussman of Perkins Coie all on Monday.

Goldstone represents pop star Emin Agalarov, who also works with his Putin-connected, real estate developer father Aras Agalarov. Goldstone communicated with the Trump campaign on multiple occasions on behalf of the family and was responsible for initiating the June 9, 2016 Trump Tower meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya

CNN:

Wasserman Schultz is of interest to the panel because the DNC paid a law firm that retained the services of Fusion GPS, an opposition research firm behind the controversial dossier containing allegations of Trump and Russian connections. She has denied having any knowledge of the matter.

The panel is also speaking to Michael Sussman of Perkins Coie, the law firm that paid Fusion GPS for the opposition research dossier on Trump and Russia, according to two sources.

Ranking member Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) and others have expressed serious concerns that GOP committee members are racing to finish their Russia investigation by the end of the year and, therefore, intentionally are over-scheduling interviews, ignoring leads, and skipping important details.

CNN:

The committee is expected to interview Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-California, later in the week, as well as hold two sessions in New York with Russian-American businessman Felix Sater, and Trump's former personal assistant Rhona Graff.
