Manafort Allowed to Attend NY Funeral

News  |  Feb 26, 2018

A judge has granted Paul Manafort permission to travel out of town to attend his father-in-law's wake and funeral in New York Monday and Tuesday.

Trump's former campaign chairman has been under house arrest since Special Counsel Robert Mueller issued his first round of indictments against Manafort and his protégé Rick Gates on October 30, 2017. Gates pleaded guilty Friday and will be cooperating with the special counsel. Manafort continues to say he is innocent.

The Hill:

Manafort on Saturday asked the court for permission to travel from his home in Virginia to Long Island to attend the wake and funeral of his father-in-law, who passed away on the same day, Reuters reported.

The judge also ordered Manafort back in court on Wednesday over the new charges filed against him last week, according to multiple reports. The arraignment is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
