Kushner's Apparent Contradiction

News  |  Nov 18, 2017

Jared Kushner, President Trump's son-in-law and senior advisor, told Congressional investigators he did not have any communication with WikiLeaks during the presidential campaign and did not know of anyone on the team who had.

This testimony, however, contradicts newly revealed information that Donald Trump Jr. messaged with WikiLeaks on Twitter and emailed several senior campaign officials, including Kushner, about the contact. Kushner then reportedly sent the email on to Hope Hicks, now White House communications director.

Kushner's attorney, Abbe Lowell, issued a statement Friday night defending his client but not explaining how Kushner was not lying when he claimed not to know about Trump Jr.'s WikiLeaks contact:

"Mr. Kushner was asked if he had contacts with Wikileaks, Guccifer or DC Leaks and said no. He also said he did not know of such contacts by the campaign. From all I have now seen, his statement was accurate then as it is now."

Business Insider's Natasha Bertrand posted Lowell's full letter on Twitter Saturday:
