UPDATE: Fox News' Capitol Hill Producer:
Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker, answering questions during a Justice Department press conference on an unrelated topic Monday, said he believes Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation is close to done.
"You know, I've been fully briefed on the investigation, and I look forward to Director Mueller delivering the final report. I really am not going to talk about an open and ongoing investigation otherwise. But sort of the statements I made were as a private citizen, only with publicly available information. I'm comfortable that the decisions that were made are going to be reviewed, either through the various means we have. But right now, the investigation is, I think, close to being completed. I hope that we can get the report from Director Mueller as soon as possible."

Whitaker’s remarks were brief and to the point, but represent the most extensive comments on the subject by any senior law enforcement official in recent months. They also come just days after Mueller’s office unveiled an indictment of Roger Stone, a longtime friend of President Trump. Stone was charged with false statements, obstruction, and witness tampering.
