President Trump, speaking with reporters on the South Lawn just before taking off for Florida, says he does not intend to fire Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein

Reuters:

“No I don’t, no,” Trump told reporters when asked if he had plans to fire the No. 2 Justice Department official. Rosenstein was flying with Trump on Air Force One after widespread speculation just weeks ago that Trump could fire him after a news report that he had questioned Trump’s fitness and wanted to record conversations with him.

Trump told reporters Monday that he has a “very good relationship” with Rosenstein ...

Rosenstein oversees special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into possible contacts between the Trump campaign and Russia.

CNN:

Trump said Monday that the two men will be "talking on the plane" and said he looks "forward to being with him."

"That'll be very nice," Trump said. "I actually have a good relationship other than there's no collusion."

Pressed further about his relationship with Rosenstein, Trump added: "I didn't know Rod before, but I got to know him and I get along very well with him."

Trump twice delayed a face-to-face meeting with Rosenstein, allegedly so as not to conflict with the Kavanaugh confirmation process.

The two men are flying to Orlando so the president can speak to a conference for the International Association Chiefs of Police.
