President Trump is pushing back his meeting with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein once again, a move White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said may happen given the president's preoccupation with the ongoing Supreme Court nomination and investigation process.
"I don't want to do anything to interrupt what's happening with Judge Kavanaugh," Mr. Trump told reporters on Tuesday when asked about Mr. Rosenstein.
Mr. Trump canceled a meeting last week with Mr. Rosenstein in which he planned to discuss reports that he discussed secretly recording the president last year in an attempt to gather evidence to help remove Mr. Trump from office.
The president said last week that he instead wanted to focus on the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, which featured testimony from Mr. Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford, who has accused the Supreme Court nominee of sexual misconduct while in high school.
