Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Senate Intelligence Committee Vice Chairman Mark Warner (D-VA), and House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Adam Schiff (D-CA) sent a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein Wednesday expressing concern the two are caving to Republican demands for more and more information about an ongoing investigation that involves the president.
They note the DOJ and FBI broke protocol by making Clinton investigation materials available to Congress in 2016, an action the recently released DOJ Inspector General's report criticized for being detrimental to the investigation.
The members of Congress note these actions set a dangerous precedent that will only lead to more and more demands for more and more materials in ongoing investigations, regardless of which party holds control of Congress.
