Trump Digital Director's Turn to Talk

News  |  Oct 23, 2017

The Wall Street Journal has confirmed that Brad Parscale, the Trump campaign's digital director, will meet with House Intelligence Committee investigators on Tuesday.

Trump reportedly paid Parscale's firm a total of $94 million for running his online operation.

Reuters notes an interesting foreign expenditure loophole in election law that the committee may consider:

Foreign nationals cannot spend money on electioneering communications, but the term under U.S. law applies only to communications made by broadcast, cable or satellite - with no mention of the internet.

The use of social media platforms was part of what U.S. intelligence agencies concluded was a broader Russian effort to meddle in the election campaign, an allegation the Kremlin has denied.
