Mueller's Team Interviewed Steele

News  |  Oct 5, 2017

CNN is reporting exclusively that investigators for Special Counsel Robert Mueller have met with Christopher Steele, the former British spy whose memos made up the controversial dossier on then-candidate Trump. The interview reportedly took place sometime this past summer.

According to CNN, "the FBI and the US intelligence community last year took the Steele dossier more seriously than the agencies have publicly acknowledged."

In a joint press conference on Wednesday, Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Burr (R-NC) and Vice Chairman Mark Warner (D-VA) announced they had hit a wall with the Steele dossier. Senator Burr said the committee had reached out to Steele but did not get a response and could not move further assessing the validity of its claims without direct knowledge of Steele's sources and who commissioned the report.
