Paul Manafort's defense team is asking for a change of venue for his upcoming July 25th trial, from Alexandria, Virginia to Roanoke.
In a memorandum in support of his change of venue request, Manafort's lawyers argue their client cannot get a fair trial because of the particular intensity of media coverage in and around DC.

The memo also claims, "Nowhere in the country is the bias against Mr. Manafort more apparent than here in the Washington, DC metropolitan area" and that "a fair trial will [sic] impossible without the change of venue to Roanoke, Virginia."
