Court Rules in Mysterious Subpoena Case

News  |  Dec 18, 2018

A federal appeals court has ruled in the mysterious case that led to authorities shutting down the entire fifth floor of the courthouse last Friday, leading to speculation Special Counsel Robert Mueller had subpoenaed someone big.

That ruling provides additional clues as to what the government is pursuing, revealing the defendant is a foreign company and not an individual.

CNN:

... [A] federal appeals court is forcing an unnamed company to comply with the subpoena.

The appeals court did not identify the company, nor did the appellate judges say the subpoena was related to the Mueller investigation. The company that sought to quash the subpoena is owned by a foreign country, the ruling Tuesday said.
