Ukrainian Oligarch/Former Paul Manafort Business Partner
Dmytro Firtash is a Ukrainian oligarch and one-time business partner of Paul Manafort. Firtash and Manafort worked together in 2008 on an $895 million New York hotel redevelopment deal that ultimately fell through. Forbes Ukraine lists Firtash as the nation’s 16th richest man. He remains in Austria waiting to find out whether he will be extradited to Spain on charges of money laundering and organized crime or to the United States to face charges of racketeering. On July 26, 2017, NBC reported the United States Department of Justice identified Firtash as an “upper-echelon [associate] of Russian organized crime" in a 115-page filing as part of the government’s case against him. Firtash attorney’s responded by saying there is no evidence his client is linked to organized crime.
