Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE) spoke on the Senate floor about speculation in Washington that President Trump could fire Attorney General Jeff Sessions after remarking in an interview that the attorney general had not effectively "taken control" of the agency.
Sasse warned that if the president were to fire the former Alabama senator, he would "find it really difficult to envision any circumstance where I would vote to confirm a successor to Jeff Sessions if he is fired because he is executing his job rather than choosing to act like a partisan hack."
