In an interview with Forbes magazine, President Trump insists the Senate Intelligence Committee has found no evidence of collusion between his administration and the Russians when, in fact, Chairman Richard Burr (R-NC) and Vice Chairman Mark Warner (D-VA) said clearly in a joint press conference last Wednesday that the issue of collusion is still open.
When asked if he believes Russia meddled in the 2016 election, Trump responds with the following:
They just said there was no change in vote. They just said that. They also just said that there has been absolutely no collusion. They just said that. Yesterday. Two days ago. Senate. There has been no collusion. I didn't speak to Russians. Everyone knows that that was just a statement put out by the Democrats so that they could have an excuse for losing an election that in theory they should have won because it's very easy for the Democrats to win the electoral college.
He adds it would bother him greatly if it were the case that Russia interfered and says he hopes there are suggestions he can implement ahead of the 2018 elections.
