Mueller’s Manafort Investigation Spans 11 Years

An FBI search warrant executed before dawn on Paul Manafort’s Alexandria, VA home on July 26, 2016 referenced possible crimes dating as far back as January 2006, CNN says. The long timeframe is just one more indication that Special Counsel Robert Mueller is looking considerably deeper into the former Trump campaign manager’s past that just the few years before he worked with the President. Mueller’s team reportedly warned Manafort in July that an indictment was coming and would involve tax and financial crimes.

This news comes on the heels of the discovery that Manafort had been under FBI surveillance before and after the 2016 election. In response to that revelation, Manafort’s spokesman Jason Maloni has released a statement calling on the U.S. Department of Justice’s Inspector General to investigate who leaked the information.
